What a great time we had on our Segways touring downtown Asheville and the nearby Montford neighborhood. So much fun!!! There were only four of us plus our guide Wes. Before we started, we were given a 30-minute training session on the segways. Though a little unnatural feeling at first, we quickly got the hang of the segways and were off. Wes was a great guide. During the 2-hour tour, we stopped at various locations in Asheville where Wes gave us a little history, a quirky tidbit or two, and/or funny factoids about this wonderful city. At one stop, we talked to a couple of local policemen who were tooling around and patroling the city on their official Segway machines. During the tour, we made one 20-minute break at the City Bakery for refreshments. We had fun and learned a lot at the same time. This is a must-do tour!!! Moving Sidewalk Tours is located in the Asheville Visitors' Center on Montford ave.

It's not easy finding a tour that everyone in the family loves - but this was it! We all had so much fun winding our way through the streets of Asheville. Wes is a great tour guide, very knowledgable, friendly and PATIENT. We spent about 2.5 hours taking in the sights and having fun on the segways. At booking I was a bit hesitant to spend the money, but it was well worth every penny and ended up being the highlight of our vacation.

We think the Moving Sidewalk is the best recreation in Asheville. You can site see, experience the wind in your hair, learn how to use a new device (the Segway), AND look cool all at the same time! Wes, the Tour Guide, is super conscientious of his guests and accommodating, as well as friendly, funny, and excited about his business. Wes makes sure everyone is comfortable and rest assured the Segway is easy to operate. Don't miss out - this is a fun, fun, fun time!!!
