This was a girl's trip (and my friend's birthday 10-10-10) so we decided to do something different to celebrate! We met up with our guide Wes and inquired about a tour on Saturday morning. We were delighted by a smile and an affirmative answer. So we arrived at 1pm along with two other folks and prepared for the mysteries of the Segway. While I am not the most gracefull of folks, Wes took us through the paces and made sure we were comfortable, or at least moderately so. We hopped on and off, leaned to and fro, hips forward now back, and that zero turn thing is such a gas!
We were his little ducklings and put our trust in him. It was well-founded trust as soon we were able to zoom like a pro, or again, at least able to handle ourselves in a crowd without maiming small children. The feeling was like nothing else. We stopped periodically so that we could be filled in on local lore or interesting history. We needed those stops to rest and wiggle the toes. He was constantly vigilant for the slowest while keeping the more skilled interested. He spoke intelligently and with knowledge. I can't wait to bring my husband back for the same tour!
Wes, one suggestion...stickers/magnets...I survived the segway or SASV or SEGASH, you get the idea... Thanks again for a great tour!
