Four of us did the tour and had a good time. Daniel was a guide and did a good job of guiding us out to Armature works and back.
The reason for docking a few stars is that we have done several tours in different parts of the USA, Israel, and South Africa and know what could be done better.
Compared to other tours:
- Segway's are old and not in the best shape. Some even had bald tires
- Segway's and helmets are not disinfected between rides. There was a rusted can of Lysol for us to do it ourselves.
- Every helmet we tried had something broken - usually on the inner liner.
- Other tours have helmets and/or headsets & microphones for each rider for tour guide communications and asking questions.
- The shop was dirty - dirty windows, floors. Felt grimy and nearly had a member of our party opt-out of the tour on the spot.
- Other tours had permission for all the places along the route where we detoured through their property. We had an issue at the start of our tour at the Amalie Arena. We later were told that the University campus also has a problem with Segway's - but our guide took us anyway.
So, is it worth doing?
Yes, for sure, we had fun, and piloting a Segway along the Riverwalk is a blast.
