What To Expect

Tampa

We take off from the Embassy Suites in Downtown Tampa and zoom quickly by the Amalie Arena. From there, we coast onto the Tampa Riverwalk, which follows the majestic Hillsborough River to the scenic Curtis Hixon Park. Take in panoramic views of the city and the bay and return to the Embassy Suites to round out your tour.

The Tampa Riverwalk was a great place to segway. Tyler, our tour guide, was excellent. We would stop here and there and he would give us a little history of the area. A memorable experience. Only complaint was we could have used a downloadable map as parking was difficult until we discovered where to park.

Only thing that could have been better was the weather (and parking - see below)! We had a cold and windy day but Tyler was great. He had great insight and shared history and fun facts along the way. Was a great way to get a feel for Tampa on our short two day visit. One issue was parking - it's close to the convention center and if big events are going on the parking is a BIG issue. All surrounding public lots were full. Only option was $20+ valet parking at Embassy Suites in same block, but we got one of those last spots so some others booked on our tour couldn't make it because they couldn't find parking at all. CONSIDER UBER drop off !

Geoff was our tour guide, he was very professional and friendly to me and my friend. He showed us how to use the segways in his storage room which got us ready in no time. It was really nice being able to leave my stuff locked in that room too, knowing that it was safe and not having to carry my backpack the whole time. Geoff was very knowledgeable of Tampa, taking us to Amalie Arena, the Tampa riverwalk, and the University of Tampa. It was just the three of us, so we were able to cover a lot of ground. If there was a story for a landmark, he would tell it. He also took our picture at one point in front of a palm tree. Would highly recommend a segway tour it you're looking to explore a city, it's a very immersive experience and segways are quite fun to ride! Being in shape helps but I wouldn't say it's a requirement.
