What To Expect

Charleston City Hall

The tour will begin in front of City Hall which is one of the pillars of the "Four Corners of Law" which also includes the Courthouse, the Post Office and St Michaels Church at the intersection of Meeting Street and Broad Street. From here you will explore many notable sites in the French Quarter and the residential area "South of Broad".

Rainbow Row

Learn the history behind the famous Rainbow Row, one of the most photographed sites in Charleston. Rainbow Row is located in the "South of Broad" neighborhood which we will explore and includes many historically significant homes including the antebellum mansions located along the famous "Battery". ***Please note that stops along the tour may vary.***

Battery & White Point Gardens

Explore the residential area "South of Broad" including the Battery with views over the water to Fort Sumter.

Our tour guide Emily was a joy to listen to and incredibly knowledgeable about Charleston! We highly recommend getting to know the city via the walking tour. Both tourist and local alike should spend a day walking Charleston!

This was a wonderful walking tour through old Charleston. We learned, for example, that it began as a walled city, that most of the city east of East Bay Street is landfill, and this history of Charleston from early to modern. The pace was good, we dodged the heat by standing in shady places, and our guide, Al Ray, really knows his Charleston.

Kari was our tour guide and did a wonderful job. She had a ton of energy, and an amazing amount of information. The tour lasted the 2 hours, was well paced, plenty of stops in the shade to talk. Only bathroom available will be at City Hall at your meeting place.
