What To Expect

Charleston City Hall

The tour will begin in front of City Hall which is one of the pillars of the "Four Corners of Law" which also includes the Courthouse, the Post Office and St Michaels Church at the intersection of Meeting Street and Broad Street. From here you will explore many notable sites in the French Quarter and the residential area "South of Broad".

Rainbow Row

Learn the history behind the famous Rainbow Row, one of the most photographed sites in Charleston. Rainbow Row is located in the "South of Broad" neighborhood which we will explore and includes many historically significant homes including the antebellum mansions located along the famous "Battery". ***Please note that stops along the tour may vary.***

Battery & White Point Gardens

Explore the residential area "South of Broad" including the Battery with views over the water to Fort Sumter.

Amy did an excellent job of describing the history of Charleston and her visual aids were phenomenal (including the one of the walled city). The only issue we had was she tried to cover a little too much in 2 hours and walked a bit fast for us, making it hard to keep up with her. Also, she recommended taking a lot of pictures several times, but again there wasn't enough time to do that due to the pace of the tour.

The tour was incredible and very informative! Our tour guide Amy Tankersley was amazing. I would recommend requesting her if you plan on doing one of these tours.

Amy Tankersly did a fantastic job on our 2 hour historic tour. She was thorough, and answered any and all questions, and the pace was perfect. W covered a lot of ground, and learned about the wonderful city’s beginnings, and transitions.
