What To Expect

Charleston City Hall

The tour will begin in front of City Hall which is one of the pillars of the "Four Corners of Law" which also includes the Courthouse, the Post Office and St Michaels Church at the intersection of Meeting Street and Broad Street. From here you will explore many notable sites in the French Quarter and the residential area "South of Broad".

Rainbow Row

Learn the history behind the famous Rainbow Row, one of the most photographed sites in Charleston. Rainbow Row is located in the "South of Broad" neighborhood which we will explore and includes many historically significant homes including the antebellum mansions located along the famous "Battery". ***Please note that stops along the tour may vary.***

Battery & White Point Gardens

Explore the residential area "South of Broad" including the Battery with views over the water to Fort Sumter.

Amy did a great job integrating Charleston's rich history with the charming present day artifacts. She includes personally constructed visual aides to illustrate historical elements that can no longer be viewed. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Personally, I hold a more conservative worldview, so I didn't enjoy some of her gender related and progressive humor, but otherwise, her knowledge and ability to answer questions was enjoyable.

Dennis was knowledgeable and a wonderful story teller. He kept us engaged for the entire tour while sharing historical information about Charleston that was amusing, important, and interesting. This was a great tour!

There was a lot of good information, but the guide talked about himself too much. He also talked about the pubs too much.
