A beautiful fall day helped set the mood for a 2 hour lunch cruise on the Portland Spirit. Quick, easy boarding, fun safety demonstration, and we were off. Lunch was served immediately. Decent food for this type of attraction. Alcohol and dessert are extra, but not over priced. Live piano music during the entire cruise was a surprise treat.
Gentle cruise up the Willamette. Great views of lower downtown, mcmansions, new apartments and condos and the floating homes. A few live-aboards, too, reminders Portland really is a port city. Quiet on the way up, but after turning around, there was a steady, interesting description of what we were passing through.
Lot's of room, both inside and outside, which made moving from side to side to look at the scenery an easy task. Because the trip is kid friendly, it was great to see the extra webbing at toddle height on the railings. Good move here, Spirit !!
Obviously not an attraction that requires a lot of activity, but fun and interesting nevertheless.
