Overview

The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also included a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.

For now, we will allow maximum capacity ONLY for one family or group per household if staying together in the same rental house. Otherwise, the maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.

If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.

We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 40 POUNDS on the tour.

While we saw a few horses, I was disappointed. The few horses were eating grass between houses, not running in groups on the beach, like in some of the photos. The ride was VERY bumpy and windy/cold, riding through the sand in a completely open vehicle with seating for 16 people. Yes, we saw a few wild horses but was it worth over $100 and a half day— between getting to the area, etc? Not really.

Thank you for your feedback. While I understand you had expectations of your own, these horses are WILD. We cannot control where they go, what they do and where our customers see them. Our open air vehicles are typically loved by customers and are better for access to photos and experiencing the tour altogether. As for our vehicles, they only fit 12 people. If the vehicle you rode in had more than 12, then you are reviewing the wrong company and if that is the case, please take this review down as it does not seem to reflect our company and our vehicles.

It was so much fun! Our tour guide had so much information about the horses and the entire area. We saw so many horses and the locals were all so nice. Definitely recommend this tour if you are looking to take a wild horse tour.

Obviously seeing horses is the most memorable, but we will also always remember Brad and his dad, I mean Brad jokes. He was amazing and really made our girls, especially Lizzie, a big part of the experience.
