Overview

The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also included a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.

For now, we will allow maximum capacity ONLY for one family or group per household if staying together in the same rental house. Otherwise, the maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.

If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.

We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 40 POUNDS on the tour.

My best friend suggested we take a Wild Horse Tour since my niece (who is 24 and not a teen) and I are huge animal lovers. We picked this tour and were not disappointed. Brad was our tour guide and he was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the horses along with their history. The 4WD vehicle holds 12 and we had 11 on our trip. The beach was gorgeous and we were blessed enough to see two harems of horses which included what I called Black Beauty (my favorite) and a baby foal. The horses (Mustangs) were absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much Brad for making this a fun experience we will never forget. Greatly appreciate it. Aunt Lynn & Courtney!

So much fun! We were a party of 7, ages 18 to 76. Riding up the beach was fun in and of itself. I had always wondered what the 4x4 area looked like and the houses in the area. We saw plenty of horses including a little one. And the horses put on a nice show for us, chasing each other etc. The tour guide was great and explained the history of the horses and all that goes along with them. Fun bumpy ride, little rough at times. I'd go again!

Great excursion. The guide was informative and took his time. The tour lasted almost 3 hours and was amazing. From the beach to the protected private areas that only can be accessed by tour was breathtaking. We loved the horses.
