The trip was perfect for us. We went on the first one in the morning. The weather made it that much nicer. But our guide Brad was fantastic. Stand up comedian with all the information that was necessary for us to understand just how special these horses are. We even went out on the beach the next day with our own vehicle and saw four more walking down the surf. This trip should be on everyone's bucket list. Thanks to everyone that made our anniversary special

We love taking family on this particular tour because of the wonderful information we get from the guide. This time I was disappointed. We saw many horses and spent some time in the shelter, but the information was scant. An example: we drove past the fire station and the canal but nothing was mentioned. The driver also ran over a partially submerged log just minutes into the 4wd area and then drove though a deep watery trough at to high a speed. After three trips on this tour, I am certain that it was the driver, not the horses.

The guide we had was very personable and had interesting tidbits to share with us during the numerous stops along the route. We saw several different groups of horses, some were almost hidden in the brush, others were more in the open. The last stop was on the beach and there was a stallion with his three mares. Unfortunately, there were people on the beach that were not following the rules of staying away from these animals. They tried to get too close for their photo ops, I think. Bring a jacket! You're going to need it. We were within two miles of the Virginia/North Carolina border when we saw the last herd of horses.
