2-hour Outer Banks Wild Horse Tour by 4WD

Overview

The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also included a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.

For now, we will allow maximum capacity ONLY for one family or group per household if staying together in the same rental house. Otherwise, the maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.

If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.

We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 40 POUNDS on the tour.

The horses were beautiful......but I feel the security of ride was dangerous. There was not enough seatbelts to secure us in, only a belt at the waste. At one point I flew up in air(unlocking seat belt) and came down very hard. I ended up with a compression fracture in my PT12. I will be out of work for a while, it is a long recovery. I suggest the company get more belts, over the shoulder belts. Next time could be worse and/or killed.

Edna was a fantastic driver and a knowledgeable tour guide. I loved riding along the beach but seeing the wild horses in their natural habitat was amazing.

The weather made it not as enjoyable as I’d hoped but it was a good time and fun to ride and see the horses. The guide, Paul, was very friendly and helpful with information about a surf program Outerbanks has for our special needs son. Super sweet guy.
