2-hour Outer Banks Wild Horse Tour by 4WD

Overview

The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also included a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.

For now, we will allow maximum capacity ONLY for one family or group per household if staying together in the same rental house. Otherwise, the maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.

If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.

We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 40 POUNDS on the tour.

The ride was bumpy but the scenery was beautiful and we got to see 10 horses!! We went to places that normal people can’t go to. The guide told us about the horses…what they eat, why we don’t feed them, how they came to island. It was very interesting to learn about.

Our guide, Sherry, known as Shorty, was amazing. She was knowledgeable and very personable. We had a great time zipping over the sand and finding horses along the way. Shorty went out of her way to make sure we all got to see and photograph the horses. We were even lucky enough to see the three day old baby filly!! This was our last night in the Outer Banks and it was absolutely perfect. Definitely put this on your to do list while visiting the Outer Banks. Oh, and please do not feed the horses. They are meant to stay wild.

This was actually a lot of fun. We got to see a lot of horses, a few with birds just standing on their backs. Our guide did an excellent job and gave my daughter the best gift for her birthday… wild horses
