What To Expect
1
Vilano Beach
As we slip away from the marina, we will be making way along Vilano Beach. Porpoise Point at Vilano Beach is a beautiful waterfront community and bounded by the intracoastal waterway. This area is known for seeing dolphins as the feed during tide change. As we sail by, it is almost certain you will see dolphins in this area.
2
Anastasia State Park
Anastasia State Park is across the waterway from Vilano Beach, and you will be able to see the more northern park as we leave the Tolomato River and continue down the Matanzas River.
3
St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, Inc.
As we move into the Matanzas River we will be close enough to capture some great photos of St Augustine Lighthouse in the distance.
4
National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios
The Great Cross and also known the Mission Cross and the Beacon of Faith Cross is located on the grounds of the Nombre de Dios Mission. The Great Cross was erected in 1966 and stands 266 feet high. It is built of 70 tons of stainless-steel plates, packed with concrete in its lower third to prevent toppling by weather conditions. The Great Cross stands tall as part of the backdrop and can be seen during the entire sailing experience
5
Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
Built by the Spanish in St Augustine to defend Florida and the Atlantic trade route, Castillo de San Marcos National Monument preserves the oldest masonry fortification in the continental United States and interprets more than 450 years of cultural intersections.
6
Bridge of Lions
The bridge gets its name from two white marble lion statues guarding the bridge on the west side. Completed in 1927, the Bridge was constructed during the extravagant land boom times in Florida. It was designed as a work of art as much as a transport for cars, connecting downtown St Augustine with Anastasia Island. A double-leaf bascule bridge, or drawbridge, it opens for boat traffic several times throughout the day.

We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and our family booked a brunch cruise with St. Augustine Sailing. We were greeted by our chef as we boarded with champagne and mimosas and a beautiful display of fruit, yogurt and other goodies. The Captain said we could just relax or we could help sail the vessel if we would like. Our next course was Eggs Benedict which was delicious with bacon and the best grilled potatoes wedges. A beautiful part of the cruise was watching a family of Dolphins including the babies swim around the boat and they did something we had never seen in the wild before, they jumped completely out of the water and did back flips. The Catamaran was beautiful and had all the amenities to make for a comfortable cruise. We enjoyed the trip so much that we want to schedule another cruise as soon as we can. Thanks to the entire staff at at St. Augustine Sailing for our wonderful experience.

We had the most amazing brunch sail with Chuck and RoseAnn just a few days ago. And where do I start?! From the moment you step on the boat to the time you get off, you are treated like royalty. RoseAnn greeted us with champagne or mimosas and there was a full spread of pastries, fruits (with banana dolphins!), yogurts, juices, etc all waiting for us when we boarded. Chuck and RoseAnn explained everything very thoroughly and then we were off on the water! The boat is a dream! Itā€™s complete luxury! Everything is very comfortable, thereā€™s plenty of room to accommodate many people, and we never felt unsafe. Chuck was a brilliant captain, pointing out various sights and spotting playful dolphins for us to enjoy. My husband and son enjoyed learning about sailing from him and Chuck let one of our sons steer for a bit. RoseAnn was so busy making a delicious brunch and taking care of all of us. There was SO MUCH food! Eggs Benedict, delicious potatoes, literally an overflowing tray of bacon! We were stuffed and food just kept coming. Truly, you cannot go wrong booking with St. Augustine Sailing. They go well above the bar to make your experience incredible! Please donā€™t hesitate to book any type of sail with these lovely people.
