Our tour was scheduled on the night that the Ukrainian president addressed Congress, it was an extremely cold and breezy evening. The bus was comfortable and warm, and Jeffrey the bus driver was excellent! He was attentive to the needs of the passengers and the ride was smooth. Vernon our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He shared facts from his perspective as an African American which included comments about slave labor and how our capital was largely built with slave labor, and it was honoring to those men and women. We started the tour near the Archives and headed to the Capital for a photo op, which was beautiful at Christmas in the evening. Travelling between the various sights we were filled with comments and facts about the many buildings and offices along the route. It was good to be away from crowds at night, and the weather made sure nobody lingered beyond our allotted times. I felt that my family was safe and cared for under Vernon's watchful eyes. Definitely a great deal and experience for my family, with kids ages 17, 13 and 10. Even the youngest enjoyed the evening and it was rated the best thing that we did on the trip.
