Flying Horses Carousel

The oldest platform carousel still operating in the United States. Originally located on Coney Island and moved to the Island in 1884.

Old Whaling Church

Built by fisherman when Edgartown was known as a major Whaling port.

Aquinnah Cliffs

A National Landmark known for it's multi colored clay cliffs.

Edgartown Lighthouse

Built in 1828 and was the Lighthouse Keepers home.

Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

19th Century religious movement where people with many religious backgrounds gathered for up to a week at a time. In the beginning of these gatherings children were not allowed to attend.

Joseph Sylvia State Beach

Watch as visitors and Islanders alike jump from the bridge in Jaws, filmed here on Martha's Vineyard.

Aquinnah Lighthouse

The only Lighthouse still operating on Martha's Vineyard.

Menemsha Public Beach

Was the location of Amity Island in Jaws. Menemsha was newly built in the 1930's but was wiped out during the great storm of 1938.

My husband, sister and I took this 3 hr tour today with our Guide Jim. The tour was excellent and informative. We visited all areas of the island. Jim was very knowledgeable of the area and it’s history. We can’t imagine how the tour could have been any better. My husband, Earl, enjoyed the role of navigator. Thanks Jim for making our one day on Marthas Vineyard a day we enjoyed and will remember.

We took the tour this morning. This is our first time on Martha's Vineyard and staff were very patient and helpful. With Tina's help, we found the bus. And Sam, our tour guide was amazing. He was a wealth of knowledge and very personable. This was a great way to start our week here!

Seemed our guide was not really a guide, more of just a local filling in and driving the route. Not many interesting stories or history to offer. Stopping to get bisque and lobster roll for lunch was the highlight.
