Martha's Vineyard is large, and the six "villages" are spread out and different from each other. This tour is great for visitors who don't understand MV and want to get the lay of the land. Our tour guide (Tom?) had a background in construction/real estate so he had lots of tidbits about property and who's who. I'm sure each tour guide focus on the island from their perspective. Anyway, we enjoyed Tom! We stopped for 10 minutes in Menemsha to pop into a fish market - we were able to purchase food/snacks and I wish I was more hungry because it smelled wonderful. He let us bring our purchases to enjoy on the bus. We also learned about the beaches, which are trickier to access than one would expect for an island. State Beach (the largest) has no facilities - nothing for sale or rent, no off-street parking, and no restrooms (!). My fellow travelers from NC were astounded. It was good learning these facts from the air-conditioned comfort of our minibus so that we could re-set our expectations for the rest of our visit. I highly recommend first time visitors take this tour to understand the uniqueness of Marthas vineyard.

Tour was informative - touched on many different topics and history but there is just not that much to see on the island.

Cheryl was our driver/guide. We took the tour on Saturday, July 27th in the morning. She was very informative. It was a great way to see the entire island since we had never been there before. Since everyone on the tour was from Massachusetts she was able to stick to MV history, facts etc without having to add Massachusetts history, facts, etc. The tour was more of a friendly conversation with a friend. I would recommend the tour if you want to see the entire island and get the feel of island life from a native. Thank you Cheryl for a great tour.
