3-hour Private Tour

Overview
Each tour is lead by an experienced Navajo guide, who is certified by the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Dept. and National Park Service. Each and everyone of our guides was born and raised in this Canyon De Chelly area, allowing them to gain a vast knowledge of its history to share with all our guests who visit this place we call home. As well as learning about the canyon's rich history, rock art sites and other archeological sites, you will hear stories and tales of life in the canyon and get a chance to visit our guide's families who still weave, farm, ranch, and continue to live a traditional Navajo lifestyle in this rural part of the southwest. We invite you to join one of our guides on a truly unique and one of a kind tour, and to support this 100% NAVAJO OWNED and OPERATED SMALL BUSINESS!! Ahéhee' (thank you)

Purchased trip online, did NOT receive any information regarding which tour company, what time and where to meet. Payment was taken out of my credit card immediately. Received an email stating that more information would be sent in 48 hours. Our trip was the next day (31 hours away) so I called trip advisor only to hear that all transactions/communication would be electronic. I sent an email and received "Thanks for getting in touch, Please note, to try and help you as quickly as possible this is an automated reply based on the subject you asked about followed by paragraphs regarding cancelling the booking, payment protection, etc. We drove a very long way to experience this tour hoping that the information we needed would be sent prior to our requested tour time. NOTHING WAS RECEIVED!! We drove all over Chinle, AZ trying to find a tour company that could accommodate us at the last minute and finally found one. Now I have to fight for a refund for our "non refundable" reservation!!!

Hello Cindy, we had you scheduled for the date of July 13, 2022 at 4 pm your guide was waiting at the Welcome Center since 3:30 pm in a marked Jeep Wrangler with our logo on the door. At 4:09 I called (left a message) and texted your cell phone provided by TripAdvisor to inform you that your guide was waiting at the Welcome Center of Canyon De Chelly. Prior to the tour I notice you had not indicated a pick up location so I messaged you through TripAdvisor the morning of July 13th that your guide would be at the Welcome Center by 3:55 pm. I did not receive a response from any of the my attempted methods of contacting you. Please understand I made all attempts to reach out as I had my guide wait an additional hour at the Welcome Center even after they had started to close the gate at 4:30 pm. I hope you understand that we were ready and available for the time you requested. Thank you Leander Staley owner.

Bennie was an amazing tour guide! He grew up in the canyon and shared his personal experiences along with the history of the canyon. I would highly recommend!

Native guide explained what we were viewing and talked about life in the kivas. He stopped at one point and played a Navaho tune on a flute-like instrument that was inspiring, especially as the music echoed off the canyon walls.
