Each tour is lead by an experienced Navajo guide, who is certified by the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Dept. and National Park Service. Each and everyone of our guides was born and raised in this Canyon De Chelly area, allowing them to gain a vast knowledge of its history to share with all our guests who visit this place we call home. As well as learning about the canyon's rich history, rock art sites and other archeological sites, you will hear stories and tales of life in the canyon and get a chance to visit our guide's families who still weave, farm, ranch, and continue to live a traditional Navajo lifestyle in this rural part of the southwest. We started the day with some friends watching the sunrise at Junction Overlook the went for a hike at the White House Ruins. Our tour was scheduled at 10am. I lived in Chinle for almost 2 years now as travel RN and been meaning to do the tours. A friend had suggested Leander al.ost a year now but never had a chance to do it. He was highly recommended. So, finally, yesterday was the time that the "hods" and spirits have finally welcomed us to their realm. The tour was definitely what I was looking g for... history and culture of this place esp the Navajo connection with my Asian heritage. Leander is an awesome storyteller. Eloquent and knowledgeable of his heritage. It's good to know that both his parents have the same love of their land. His mother being an archeologist and works for the Parks department. It's all in the family, so to speak. So, where can you find a more authentic tour guide. As an aside, he brought us to his relatives orchard of which I heard so much about, farming at the canyons (this us at the Canyon del Muerto). The fruits were all harvested but to see it was pure joy. I love fruit trees❣. He also shared some family anecdotes which is heartwarming. The times flies when your having fun as the cliche goes. Overall, it was one of the educational and fun tours, that I can remember so far. Kudos to you, Lee and God bless you and your family. I will actively recommend you and your tour company. Mabuhay! As we say it in the Philippines. It means, good luck and more power to yah!

I would highly recommend Beauty Way, vs just signing up for whatever is available thru your hotel/motel. Our knowledgeable, personable guide Davidson was excellent. He brought in his experiences in the Canyon from previous jobs and when we would ask about something, from plants to burial, to ladders he would answer then show us (if applicable) during the tour. The petroglyphs were fascinating and he explained how you could tell those from the earliest residents vs those who came later. We got a great sense of the History as well as the current. We would have missed so much without his explanations. There was a slight hiccup on our reservation but it was handled professionally and personally by the owner

A fascinating trip in an awe-inspiring place. Our guide, Benny, was knowledgable and informative about the ancient history of the area, but was also able to give real insights into more recent history through the eyes of his family who had lived there for generations. Not to be missed!
