3 Hour Rainforest Walk and Totem Park

Overview
Enjoy a rainforest walk and visit a Totem Park on our 3 hour excursion in scenic Ketchikan, Alaska on this small group tour with local guide.

Explore the lush green rainforest of Alaska among huge old growth trees and moss blanketing the forest floor.  The remote nature trail follows a cascading creek and we stop at a beautiful waterfall viewing area.  The trail does have several sets of stairs and uphill / downhill portions. Experience natures beauty up close and step into this treasured land on our approximately 1.5 mile hike.  Escape the crowds and take in the fresh air and peacefulness of the forest.

We also journey to the Totem Park where your local guide will share stories behind the majestic totem poles and the Alaska Native culture with you.  Our excursions are small groups of 11 guests or less and we include pick up at the cruise ship dock. Wild Wolf Tours is a local family owned business and we love to share our beautiful surroundings with you.

Our favorite tour! As one of the first ships in Ketchikan on a repositioning cruise, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves the only guests to have booked, giving us a personal tour. The hike was breathtaking, paced appropriately to enjoy the surroundings and Tracy took time to weave in local history, botanical info and special sights along the way and back. Our cruise ultimately concluded in Vancouver, where we enjoyed the Anthropogy Museum of UBC, very happy to have had Tracy's background on the navite Tlingit culture, customs, food and legends. This tour had everything: nature, history, pristine scenery and the local totem museum, art and artifacts. We will absolutely do it again with our family and grandchildren, including reserving a personal tour at the outset.

Great tour. I’ve traveled to Ketchikan multiple times and been on several of the walking tours, and this one is the best. I learned a lot about the culture and environment in Ketchikan from the tour guide Collin, you could point to a plant/totem pole/anything and he could tell you all about it. Very cool. Thought the rainforest hike was beautiful and the totem park on the beach was as well. If you like to learn about and see up close the culture, wildlife, and forests of the places you visit then this is a great tour!!

A true Alaskan experience with a VERY knowledgeable local guide. Could not ask for anything more. Learn about native history, wildlife, and how the cycle of life works in the Tongass National Forest. Our driver was also kind enough to drop us off anywhere we wanted downtown. Even recommended where to eat lunch. Which ended up being the best damn salmon burger I’ve ever had in my life. This has been a life changing experience. Now if I can only talk my wife +7kids into moving here ;)
