3 Hour Rainforest Walk and Totem Park

Overview
Enjoy a rainforest walk and visit a Totem Park on our 3 hour excursion in scenic Ketchikan, Alaska on this small group tour with local guide.

Explore the lush green rainforest of Alaska among huge old growth trees and moss blanketing the forest floor.  The remote nature trail follows a cascading creek and we stop at a beautiful waterfall viewing area.  The trail does have several sets of stairs and uphill / downhill portions. Experience natures beauty up close and step into this treasured land on our approximately 1.5 mile hike.  Escape the crowds and take in the fresh air and peacefulness of the forest.

We also journey to the Totem Park where your local guide will share stories behind the majestic totem poles and the Alaska Native culture with you.  Our excursions are small groups of 11 guests or less and we include pick up at the cruise ship dock. Wild Wolf Tours is a local family owned business and we love to share our beautiful surroundings with you.

During our Alaskan cruise, we did the rainforest excursion during our stop in Ketchikan. Turned out to be the right choice. The hike through the woods is relatively easy, and you see some beautiful scenery. We were lucky enough to be there when the salmon were starting their run, and actually saw a lot of them swimming upstream, and jumping through the air at the waterfall. The totem pole park is interesting, but not as much so as the rainforest. But the best part of the tour was our guide, Natalie. She was awesome. She clearly loves her job and has passion for it, and was a wealth of information. She alone could make an average trip worthwhile.

Can highly recommend the 3 hour Rainforest Walk and Totem Park Tour. The rainforest is so unique, beautiful, lots of different trees, river with the cascades. We saw salmons jumping the rapids, it was so amazing. Our guide Tracy was very friendly, told us lots about the wildlife and life in Ketchikan, thanks to her we learned a lot more about beautiful Alaska. Totem Park was very interesting too. And Tracy provided very delicious snack too, salmon spread with crackers. Don’t miss this tour when in Ketchikan.

I was initially hesitant about this tour, but glad my friends convinced me to go. Our tour guide was a teacher, that made this very fun. You could tell she enjoyed her job and was very passionate about sharing the history of the Totem Park and facts about the area. The walk had some strenuous areas, but the sights made it worth it.
