3-Hour Sea Kayak Tour in the San Juan Islands

Overview
We are the only kayak tour company that is currently able to lead trips to Burrows Island. You will be exploring unique shorelines that few visitors to the islands are able to experience.

Save time, and save money!
The experience does not require the hassles of taking a ferry to San Juan Island. Anacortes, located on Fidalgo Island has two bridges connecting us to the mainland.

Because you are able to drive directly to us your time on the water is maximized. Many tour companies on other islands include a lengthy shuttle ride as a part of their trip thereby reducing the actual time spent kayaking and encountering wildlife.

Single kayaks are available for participants for an additional $25pp. Must be 18 years or older. (Must be requested in advance and is subject to availability.)

Professionally trained guides will see to the details and ensure your comfort.

  • PLEASE CALL US AFTER BOOKING. Due to the nature of booking on a third-party site, and our small group size, we highly recommend giving us a quick call after you book to make sure that your preferred departure time works for you. During the busiest days we often run full. In the unlikely event that your preferred trip is already full then we will definitely get you out on a trip leaving at a similar time. We just don't want to cause you any disappointment. Thank you!
  • If you have serious medical conditions then please consult with your physician before signing up.
  • If you are feeling unwell then please choose another day to join us, after you are feeling better

  • Transportation vehicles regularly sanitised
  • Guides required to regularly wash hands
  • Contactless payments for gratuities and add-ons
  • Due to Covid-19 we are unable to place strangers into kayaks together. If you are a solo traveler then you will need to be prepared to paddle in a single kayak (a little more tippy, and slightly more work because you are alone). Odd-numbered groups will likely use a triple kayak.

We booked the trip about 2 hours before it was scheduled to depart (10 AM on a Tuesday, late August) and ended up with Tim as our private guide, since no one else had booked that time. The whole experience was outstanding. The 3 hour trip felt like the perfect length for us. We have kayaked before, but only casually. Tim was able to give us the perfect paddling tips quickly so that we were paddling efficiently from the start. I cannot say enough about how impressed we were with Tim's level of knowledge. From history, geology, ecology, biology. . .Tim really knows his stuff. The whole tour felt conversational but fun, like an exploration. Tim was excited to point out seals, a Stellar Sea Lion, the bulb kelp ecosystem, and sea stars. I would do the exact same trip again in a heartbeat.

Quinn was such an excellent guide. Gave good instructions, offered interesting and thoughtful facts of the San Juan wildlife. We will book again and probably a much longer tour!

We couldnā€™t follow the usual route to Burrows Island due to strong currents. I would have preferred they cancel it. We went along the shore next to newly built houses. Guide did not live up to the rave reviews.

It is unfortunate that we were unable to meet your expectations. Thank you for your feedback, we will try to find out who the guide was and why the route you took was chosen. For the record (and for the benefit of those who read this review), we do not have a "usual" route. Most trips go out to explore the shorelines of Burrows and/or Allan Island, as well as Young Island. Some trips circumnavigate the island, some do not. Our guides make their decisions in real time as the trip unfolds, and base their decisions on prevailing conditions and the needs of the group.
