6 Day Yosemite Backpacking - The Hidden Yosemite

Overview

Many believe that the northern portion of Yosemite National Park is the last true wilderness of the Sierra Nevada. This trip will take you through the less visited portion of the park that is home to deep canyons, dense old-growth forests, and stunning alpine peaks and ridges. On this adventure you will camp besides rivers, and backcountry lakes that provide a dramatic landscape of the Northern Yosemite terrain including camping in upper Slide Canyon beneath the Sawtooth Ridge. If you’re looking to push yourself and have an authentic wilderness experience, this is the adventure for you!

I sent my 15 year old son on the six day trip and he returned invigorated and excited about his accomplishments on the trip. Great customer service, very knowledgable and friendly staff. I highly recommend this trip for your teen.

This is from my 12-year-old son: I had an awesome time with Lasting Adventures. They provided all the equipment necessary. I was part of the south side route going to Half Dome Village spanning roughly 35 miles. I had three very great counselors, Ryan, Marina, and Saagar. I would recommend this route for kids 12+ years old since it is somewhat challenging with a heavy backpack. One thing you should be aware is a lot of mosquitoes. I would definitely pack a tube of anti-itch cream. The views are incredible! Each campsite we stayed had a freshwater source close by so water is not an issue. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the trip and would definitely do it again if I could.
