Itās ironic how you feel the most alive when your heart skips a few beat or two...
My name is Dana a.k.a. Dora the explorer. I'm always looking for places to climb, hang from, or drop out of. Anything to get that adrenaline rush. Flying high in the air usually gets my adrenaline pumping nice and fast.
When I found out we are going to Maui, I started researching several zip lining places. I was looking for somewhere beautiful to zip line. After seeing the island, I realized this wasnāt going to be too hard! There probably isnāt a bad place to zip line on the island, so if youāre in Maui youāre already winning. But If I had to bet, Kapalua Ziplines is the prettiest place to get your zip on.
Pros:
-Safety: This place is safe! Nothing looks rusty or old. The safety directions were easy and I felt secure. You donāt really need to do much thinking because they break the lines for you. Dummy proof. This place would be great to try for your first time. Even though some of the lines are long, itās not too scary. I was in awe of the amazing view.
-The View: Hold your breath...The views are magnificent. I canāt imagine you will find better on the island.
-The Staff: All of the staff were friendly and professional. To be honest, Iāve enjoyed other tour guides more than the one we had. She was nice but I wasnāt a fan of her dry humor. I think my jokes are better and Iām less offensive. However, sheās forgiven because she got some awesome pictures and videos of me. Luckily, Iām a real picture whore so she redeemed herself.
-The Pictures: They took a lot of great pictures/videos as I stated before. I was shocked how well they came out. It costs $50 to buy all of them on a disc drive. (They donāt encourage you to take your phone because in the last 2 months 11 cell phones have dropped to their death). They canāt retrieve your phone if it falls. And...I LOVE my phone and I wasnāt willing to risk her life! So I decided to play it safe because losing my phone is not the adrenaline rush I was looking for.
Cons:
-Adrenaline Rush: They break the lines for you so there isnāt much to think about. I kind of like breaking myself because you get a nice adrenaline rush. Will I f@ck up and crash or can I do this right? If you like super safe or it's your first time, this zip line would probably be great for you.
-Price: This zip lining wasnāt cheap. $210 per person for 6 lines. However, their price is comparable to all the other zip lining places in Maui so get ready to break the bank. Maui in general is expensive so if money is an issue, pick another destination or stick to swimming.
In conclusion the views were priceless especially while standing on the suspension bridge. If youāre looking for a bit of adventure Kapalua Zip lines will be a memorable experience while also making you fall in love with the beautiful island of Maui!
Fly high...Aloha!
