70-Minute Guided Downtown Eureka Springs Walking Tour

Overview
The tour offers a chance to learn about the history of Downtown Eureka Springs - starting before the founding of the town, the people who have made history downtown, and the unique geography of three underground systems - caves and cliffs, the Mud Street rebuild, and the creek that runs under it all.

Walking through the entertainment and shopping district, you get a feel for life as it was, the art district it is now, and see the hidden treasures throughout. Told in stories and vignettes along the way, the tour is a treat for all ages.

You visit an intact underground storefront covered over in the making of the Underground. This is only open to visitors to our tour. This is not an adventure tour. The underground systems are explained, but only the underground storefront is visited.

If you're into history, this is a "MUST DO" addition to your Eureka Springs activity list. It is a walking tour and you will be traveling up and down stairs, so lace up those walking shoes. I don't recommend the trip for families with small children in strollers...unless you're really fit and can carry that stroller! But the tour was fantastic and very informative. Our guide, Emily, was very friendly.

Thanks so much! You are right it is a lot of walking and not particularly stroller friendly with so many stairs. But so much fun history! Emily is our new guide and is mastering the art of being a tour interperter. We apprecate your support for her - she's going to be a star! Wow! This was a great tour! Our guide was enthusiastic and quite funny at times. This is a walking tour with plenty of stairs so not for the feint of heart. We saw many points of interest and learned a bit of history about all of them. We got caught in a downpour halfway through that made this tour all the more memorable. The guide made the best of the situation and we scurried from dry spot to dry spot as best we could. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes history or anyone who likes a little workout with their history. 5 stars. (Thanks David!)

It was a super informative and very interesting tour! Our guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and friendly! He also gave some good recommendations about places to go while giving the tour between stories. It was really cool learning a lot about the history of this beautiful place! It definitely made my birthday a little better by having such a fun and interesting experience!
