The 9/11 memorial was a poignant tribute to all who died on that day, and the museum a stark reminder of its terrors - well organised and very moving. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was a little too busy at points - in a key exhibition especially - but it didn’t detract too much.

The historical exhibition was very overcrowded. Used headphone download which was good. Remember to take headphones with you.

My last full day in NYC, and this visit was essential. Booked in advance, and met our guide, Chris, who was friendly and professional. The rest of the group consisted of just 3 lovely ladies and I and we all got on very well. Chris was fantastic, aided with some large photographs to assist his monologue to help us understand better. He happily took photos for us confront of various monuments. All questions were answered with authority and with sublime knowledge. He really made the tour fascinating and informative. Great photo opportunities, and times for reflection. I saw other groups on our tour, but their guide wasn't as good as Chris. He really is an asset. We all finished our tour at the museum entrance and said our goodbyes to a brilliant guide. The museum, in comparison, was very poignant and almost depressing. The intentions are there, the rawness is still there, and too recent to absorb as a museum memory. I found the museum had no real organisation to it, with everyone walking in circles. I'm glad I visited the museum, but came out feeling flat and depressed.......which is necessary when you consider the horrors of that day are still fresh in so many peoples memories.
