I had taken this tour years ago, prior to this swamp becoming part of the Jean Lafitte National Park. Although I did miss the baiting of the alligators for an up close view, we still saw many alligators in their natural environment. The swamp had become beautifully lush with plants, and we saw many species of birds, including an eagle nest. The Spanish Moss swaying in the cypress trees was magical.

We had a great time riding the boat down the bayou and seeing the gators. Our tour guide was funny and we learned a lot. You won't see something like this in any other part of the states so if you are hesitating to do any swamp tour...hesitate no more and do it! Especially for the price, you can't go wrong.

It was okay. The trip over was just as interesting. Our guide was very good at driving the pontoon. the gators were gators and the bald eagle I have in my back yard. but for those from the city it was very interesting. But I did enjoy the solitude of the ride after bourbon Street.
