What To Expect

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Native guides will lead you through the meandering bayou in a shady, spacious pontoons boat under a relaxing breeze. Learn about the swamp's ecosystem and all of its mysterious lore while viewing the gators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and snakes that call the swamp their home. If you are coming from New Orleans and need a hotel pick up, Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour offers pick-ups/drop-offs at select hotel locations for an additional fee. Please call for exact pick-up time/location options and to reserve your transport. All pickups are 1 hour prior to tour. There's a lunch option available for the 10 a.m. where you will dine at Restaurant Des Familes after your swamp adventure.

Capt Jamie made the adventure truly enjoyable. A lot of laughs and information. Got a good sense of the bayou and alligators in their natural state. Turtles and a great blue Heron! Robin really enjoyed handling the baby alligator!

It was a bit for a shame that we did not see giant crocodiles but this tour is still worth doing. There are a few smaller crocs, turtles, bird etc. The scenery is very nice to look at, the swamplands and woods. The tour guide was intresting and engaging, he bought along a small crocodile for everyone to hold.

Tour guide was awesome we saw at least 10 alligators including a 12’. Plenty of parking and plenty of fun.
