9am Turtle Canyon Snorkel Adventure

Overview

What better way to start your day than to slip into the refreshing waters of Turtle Canyon and swim with amazing green sea turtles, beautiful tropical fish, and other incredible marine life? Our snorkel guides help you feel confident, safe and at ease as you dive in and explore the beauty just below the surface. Our guides specialize in showing you not only turtles, but also hidden creatures such as a tako (octopus), vana (sea urchin), and so much more! We provide snorkels, masks, fins and snorkel vests to get you out there exploring all the remarkable sea life below!

After we've finished snorkeling, we'll hoist the sails and set out around Diamond Head on the search for Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, and in the winter months, we'll be on the lookout for Humpback Whales making their yearly migration. Stretch out on the nets, relax and enjoy complimentary snacks as we cruise along some of the most beautiful scenery on the island!

It was amazing to see so many turtles close up in their natural environment. We also saw many shoals of different types of fish and on the way back saw dolphins following the boat. It was an experience that we will be telling our friends about for many months to come. The boat was excellent and the crew were amazing. Really friendly and very attentive to the weaker swimmers in our group.

It was a quick 10-15 walk from our hotel to the meeting place (the floor above the Yard House). From there, we walked about 5 minutes to the dock. Make sure to bring your own towel & reef safe sunblock (although they have some too on board). They provided snorkeling vest, snorkel, mask and fins. The crew and captain made it an enjoyable experience. We went out in 20-30 mph winds - so a choppy day - and one crew member was out with a surfboard so kids (and adults) were able to hang on and relax and take a breather. I took 2 non-drowsy Dramamine (sea sickness) pills knowing that it was a very windy day and I am proud to say I did not lose my dignity (or breakfast). Definitely consider taking Dramamine if the weather looks anything other than calm. We saw many fish, turtles, and dolphins. I wish the water was clearer but it was so windy that the water was a bit murky- but eh -what are you going to do about Mother Nature? The kids were not as enthused with snorkeling as the parents (mainly due to the rocky waters/weather) so they swam a little and went back to the boat to have snacks and drinks. They enjoyed the catamaran ride to/from Turtle Cove, and still had a great time - and the adults got to snorkel so everyone had a great time! There many children on our boat (not all mine ;) at various ages of 6+ and they all seemed to have a great time so I would say bring the whole family! Its a cash bar on board, and don’t forget to bring cash to tip the crew!
