A Day in Amish Country

Overview
Pennsylvania is home to a fascinating culture found in the rural farmlands outside of Philadelphia. Join our tour to understand the complex history and lifestyle of the Amish community and dispel the myths of a much misunderstood people.

Your tour starts with a ride in our comfortable van out to the idyllic countryside of Lancaster County, where you’ll hear about the beginnings of Amish culture in the United States and see farmers hard at work in their fields.

Your local guide will fully immerse you in the way of life here with a visit to an 1800s farmhouse, and your included admission to the Amish Village Museum will give you a deeper appreciation for the traditions and philosophies of the Amish communities.

We’ll have time for stops in small towns highlighting Amish-made goods, including quilt shops, bakeries, and road-side stands. Best yet, you’ll have the chance to support the community with your food purchases, with unique options recommended by your guide!

Great day and it was a full day excursion. James was a great guide and full of interesting facts. Remember to take lunch money - and don’t eat breakfast as the smorgasbord was phenomenal! Saw lovely things to buy both edible and not. The Armish Village museum was a highlight.

I had a great day in the amish country. There were only two of us travellers but it did not feel awkward at all. Our guide James was very attentive and knowledgeable. Loved the buffet food, saw some Amish people, lots of goats, a pumpkin patch (not sure why that was sp exciting to me!) but most of all learnt so much about Amish and Penssylvania Dutch culture.

I live in a city so I am glad to visit this beautiful countryside while in Philly. It’s peaceful and kind of reminds me that sometimes life can slow down a bit, be a little more intentional and live for what’s more important. James our guide gives great service and very knowledgeable.

Thank you Hannah! It is nice to get out of the city (even as one as awesome as Philly) and enjoy the peaceful countryside. Our tour of Amish Country does just that, plus teaches you about a fascinating culture.
