Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

Our tour guide, Marcia, was outstanding. She made us laugh. She was full of interesting historical information and even brought snacks. We stayed with her longer because we wanted more of her. She’s the best! We totally enjoyed the tour.

Ross was fantastic! So knowledgeable on Portland’s colorful history and with many amusing anecdotes, this was one of the highlights of our trip, don’t miss it! My teen loved it too

Ross was an excellent tour guide. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and even made sure to accommodate one of the members of the tour who was running late. He provided a mix of history and interesting facts about the restaurants and chefs in town, which helped us make decisions on where to eat. This was a great tour to take on our first full day, because it gave us the lay of the land. I would definitely recommend taking this tour! Thanks, Ross!
