Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

Great guide and tour. Loved the history. Our guide gave great recommendations for additional places we didn't get to on the tour.

The tour was good, but it needs to be tightened up. A 2-hour tour turned into a 3-hour tour, and there was too much wandering off topic for my liking. One example was we were standing near the Jewish synagogue and the guide was explaining the history of it being built; then the guide went on to speculate about the Islamic mosque and then the Hindu temple, if they even exist. There were several examples like this of straying from the storyline, which would be fine if you're trying to fill in to get 2 hours, but not if you're running way over timewise.

Marcia was our tour guide and was fabulous. She made Portland's history interesting and real. Walking was easy and everyone enjoyed it.
