Overview

Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

My husband & I took this tour at the beginning of our trip to Portland, Maine & it was a great way to get acquainted with the Old Port area. Our tour guide was personable & knowledgeable & he provided many interesting facts and stories about the history of Portland and Old Port in particular. He also pointed out some great restaurants in Old Port during the tour. This was a great way to spend a morning - getting a little exercise & learning about the area - highly recommend!

This was a really great tour, Mike was very knowledgeable and made our walk around Portland exciting and fun. We learned a lot about the history of Portland and saw some great places. A self-professed "foodie", he had some great restaurant recommendations that we enjoyed thoroughly... will definitely recommend to anyone we know visiting the area!

Mike is a natural born teacher! He makes the tour interesting and fun. Yes walking 2+ hours in November in Portland Maine was great fun! Would recommend to friends and family any time.
