rate this a 1 because the performance was good. For the price of $127/person it was garbage!! I was told that we would receive a military discount...that didnt happen! I was told I would get a lei and got a shell necklace. I was told it would be from 5-8. We didnt get checked in and able to be seated until almost 6. It ended at 7:15..... I was told it was authentic food. It was NOT AT ALL!!! It was frozen mixed vegetables, a bag lettuce "salad", a small piece of cake, pulled pork, rice, mac salad, pico de gallo. I have NO idea why we got pico de gallo. The chicken seemed like it was a rotisserie chicken from wal mart. The pork was decent. I have no idea where the value of $127/person was. Heck we didnt even have a beautiful sunset to watch as this happened. I expected tropical fruit (besides the 2 tiny pieces of pineapple we got). I expected a lot more for what we got. Very disappointed to find out it was in the middle of the mall. No its more then disappointed...Im embarrassed to tell my family when they have asked ow was the "luau" to tell them it was IN THE MIDDLE OF A MALL!!!! I could have saved myself a ton of money and just got a better meal from the food court and just watched from the balcony like other people did. I just saw another review that someone paid $65/person in January.... Are you serious? Dont waste your time or money on this one. There are plenty others that are a lot better.
Response from Host

I hope my response will clear up some confusion and concerns with your experience.
Regarding the location, the land which our luau is hosted is one of the most historical locations on Oahu. It was owned by King William Charles Lunalilo, the first elected king in Hawaiian history, who gifted the land to Queen Emma, who is responsible for opening the Queens Medical Center. The luau is hosted in the Queenās Garden, which honors the healing spirit of the Queen, her hospital and her mission to always act with generosity and kindness toward others.
We understand at first glance it appears our luau is hosted in a mall, but we are actually located in the Queens Garden surrounded by beautiful coconut trees and plants. However, our location is correctly advertised on our website and across all online platforms through text, images, videos as being located in the International Market Place so I hope this addresses your concern and anyone who is reading about the location of the luau site.
I also want to address the complete value of what you get with the luau price for the readers who are not familiar with what a luau is. The price you pay for reflects the luau experience as a whole which include the interactive cultural activities, dinner, and Polynesian show.
Hereās the PROS about attending Queens Waikiki Luau vs others luaus:
1. Conveniently located in Waikiki, which means you can just walk to our luau site instead of getting on a bus or driving an hour to the other side of the island and driving another hour back to other luaus.
2. Small intimate setting, which means one-on-one interactions with our performers. To put in perspective, we only have about 100 person capacity vs other luaus which have more than 600 person capacity. This means you will feel like family at our luau versus feeling like cattle being herded at other luaus.
3. Best value-All luaus have the exact same amenities which is the cultural activities, dinner, and show. We offer all those things with the additional benefit of intimate participation, convenient location, and at the most affordable prices. Other luaus are double the price.
This is why Queens Waikiki Luau is one of the highest rated luaus on Oahu!
