The sunset was a beautiful backdrop for the luau festivities (weather was perfect) and the food was delicious. However, our table was so far back, the view of the stage was poor. The show was well done but the content not as good as other luaus on the island.

Planned our entire weekend around the Royal Kona Resort Luau for 3/15/21, our last night on the island. We were expecting to eat and enjoy a show. When we arrived to the front desk they advised us there was no Luau scheduled for 3/15/21 and trip advisor should not have sold us ticket. They notified us they have had multiple families who booked and turned away. Now every place we have tried for dinner is either closed or over a 1.5 hour wait.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW! This luau is MISLABELED by Tripadvisor. I called Royal Kona resort after booking tickets through Tripadvisor because the listing makes it sound like you are getting VIP tickets ("skip the line", "enjoy a shell lei greeting, a lei workshop"), but when I downloaded my tickets they say "general seating". They are GENERAL SEATING tickets! I confirmed this by having the resort look up my reservation. And if you buy them on Royal Kona Resort's website they are much cheaper. Mine were $87.50 each. I have had success booking through Tripadvisor in the past, but not this time. I strongly recommend getting tickets directly from Royal Kona Resort.
