The luau was fine. The server Kenny was amazing, however the wood carvers they allow into the place are cons. I prepaid for an art carving. 3 nights later it wasn't ready and when we found them, they increased the price and the piece still wasn't ready. I gave them my number to call me the next day for pickup and final payment which never happened. So basically I paid 140 for a wood carving I will never see and Royal Kona Resort allows questionable characters to manipulate guests that have subcommed to the all night Mia ties. Not my first Luau, unfortunately my first con luau at the ROYAL KONA RESORT. Will never stay or participated in any activities in a place that doesn't vet their vendors. Shame on this resort for promoting such con artists.

The staff was amazing, we had to order a special plate for my mom due to food allergies and they made her a beautiful plate and she even got to keep the leftovers. The dancers and band and host were also amazing and so talented. We had an awesome time and lived talking to and appreciated having the wood Carver there, if you are into art, bring some cash redownload venmo and get a spectacular piece hand carved to take home from your vacation, mahalo from our family to yours

Great sunset view. Staff was efficient and friendly. Show was educational and entertaining. Our first time in Hawaii.
