What To Expect

Arkansas River Tours

You will arrive are out Canon City location, check in with our friendly reservation staff, meet your guide for the day, be outfitted with necessary rafting gear, go through an in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a short 5-10 min ride to the river put in

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

Once you arrive at the river you will be given specific instructions by your guide and then hit the river for an amazing adventure. You will float through the world famous Royal Gorge! Amazing views of the Royal Gorge Bridge and amazing whitewater on this trip. This is the premiere trip on the Arkansas River!

It’s not easy to be asked to take 50 middle school kids anywhere, much less down a river where you are depending on them to paddle and follow directions. But ART did it with a smile. The guides were never annoyed and made every moment a blast. We had some kids over board and again the guides showed no annoyance or frustration, just smiled and took it all in stride. Our guide, Jesus, was fun and was hollering right along with the kids. I’d be happy to take the kids along for the ride and would trust them with my own family.

We had the BEST time with Berry!! He was an amazing guide, truly passionate about what he does and genuinely wants you to learn, feel empowered and enjoy your adventure. We felt confident going into class 5 and 4+ water because he was calm, direct and always explained what to expect and what to do in different scenarios. I’ve rafted about 10 trips in different areas of Colorado and this was hands down my favorite!!

We booked a full day advanced trip for my 19yr old, my 15yr old and myself (45yr). We ended up getting Austin all to ourselves. It was amazing! Even though the river was a little low, it was still exciting. Lunch was awesome! Well worth the money. Hadn't planned on spending the money for pictures, but after we got back and saw how good they were, we bought all of them. Highly recommend Arkansas River Tours and especially Austin!
