Plane ride from PHX to West Rim was great even with a short stop in Sedona. Boat ride on Colorado River was short and smooth and visually pleasing, different perspective. The Helicopter ride to Canyon floor was breathtaking. Can't even describe it, unlike anything I've ever done. Skywalk blew me away. Afraid of heights but I still was able to do it by walking on opaque parts and holding onto railing. Get your picture taken and buy it! Supplied lunch was very good, ribs and beans. It's a long day and not for the faint of heart...but a great value for a couple. May be overwhelming for small children. Need good walking shoes. Ask for Tommy the pilot as your guide. Really nice guy, personable and he'll let you ride shotgun...for real!!

This is a terrific way to see one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. We made the trip during the "slow" season so we had the helicopter and boat all to ourselves. The Skywalk itself is "ok" (you'll need to put your camera, phone etc into a locker before you can go onto it and pay one of the "professional" photographers to take your pics) but the area around it is free to explore and spectacular. Our pilot Cody and the rest of the Westwind team are professional, helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend.

We booked this GC day trip from Phoenix as a surprise for our high school and college age kids for Christmas while on vacation in Scottsdale. (Book well in advance as this is one of their busiest times of the year.) Definitely a splurge, but with limited time and never having visited GC as a family, it was so worth it!! Karla, our pilot and guide for the day, was wonderful. Personable, professional and knowledgeable, she was everything you could want for a 7 hour trip to GC. Everything flowed along smoothly and we never felt rushed. Plenty of time to enjoy each aspect of the trip (see other reviews for full descriptions of the day). We departed just in time for a spectacular sunrise and enjoyed the mesmerizing views during our flight to GC. December was a great time to visit, warm enough with layers on and little to no crowds. (Actually, the crowded busses were arriving from Vegas around 12:30, just as we were walking back to the tarmac to hop in our little plane to head back to Phoenix. West Wind Air's timing was perfect.) The helicopter rides were fantastic! None of us had ever been in one and the flight to the bottom and then back to the top of the GC did not disappoint. Overall, a superior experience and perfect for any nervous small plane/helicopter travelers because everything was conducted in such a professional manner. Shout out to Lindsey, the WWA's welcome wagon, who called 2 days in advance to confirm, answer any questions and was at the airport with a big smile and warm greeting to help get our day started. This was definitely an awesome experience that we will all remember and would highly recommend.
