Me and my sister took this tour yesterday and it became a private tour as we were the only people on this tour. John not only shared a rich knowledge of DCs history for African Americans but also shared some of his experiences during those same times which added a great personal touch to the tour. Even with COVID reducing our access to some of our stops, Johns deep knowledge of the area and personality made us feel like we had not missed anything, it was like we were touring with family! Shout out to Ali our tour driver as well who was also great!

Nick was amazing. We had the best day with him. He is passionate and so knowledgable. This tour is a MUST! I highly recommend it. So much history and also such a great time. Nick was funny and knew the city like the back of his hand. He also recommended an amazing lunch spot. Dont miss out on this tour.

This is a great tour. Very informative. We visited MLK memorial, BLM plaza, Lincoln Memorial, Frederick Douglas’s neighborhood and more. John was a terrific tour guide. He is well read on history and could give context behind a lot of events in the history of DC. It’s more than just Black history on the tour but in these time it is worth going on a tour that highlights what all the black citizens, slaves and ex-slaves have done to build our nation and the struggles still going on. Some historical clarifications are needed and given by the tour. Tony was a great driver and the bus was extremely clean (new) and he paid very close attention to masks, cleaning the bus and social distancing within. I recommend this tour.
