After boarding the bus, , the chaos began...the driver and tour guide had never met or worked together before....it's what we heard them say and what we soon discovered....while the tour guide and narrator was very knowledgeable...we heard the same information over and over again for 4 hours....as if it was his first time mentioning it to us...we did not stick to the itinerary that they had and found ourselves circling round and round city streets and very narrow nearly impassable by tour bus neighborhood roadways...it was harrowing at times especially while passing through at least 2 red traffic lights....my husband, son and the single man who sat behind us spent at least 2.5 hours on they're phones...after lunch a family of 5 did not return to the bus....per the tour guide they had other plans....wonder why?? As an optimistic person, I kept thinking it would get better in a few minutes....when there were glimpses of new information, but then the rhetorical information resurfaced. Very disappointing and a complete waste of roughly 2.5 hours...45 minutes of good information and 45 minutes of decent lunch at Ben's Chili Bowl...would not recommend this tour with Mr. James tour guide and Carolina the bus driver.

Unfortunately this tour did not live up to the amazing reviews. Our tour guide had clearly not given the tour prior to this day, he gave us zero African American History of the city, took our poor bus driver on wild goose chase to locations off the itinerary. The information shared was much more DC focused, and not specific to the tour description. We actually left the tour at the half way point and went on to the NMAAHC as we were not confident we would get there in time for our ticket times. It was a bit of a disaster. Super disappointed.
