We had 17 people in our group celebrating a 50th anniversary, and it was the highlight of our Newport trip. We had a beautiful evening to sail and enjoyed the commentary by our host who had many stories to tell. The captain knew what he what he was doing. We weren't bounced about and no close calls. We were served "stuffies" and a glass of champagne for a toast and there were other adult beverages, soda and water available. We would encourage you to take the Gansett sunset cruise!

Loved our tour yesterday with Gansett Cruises!! Our guide shared unique info and his sense of humor, the other staff was very friendly, and they didn't pack the boat with people, which I really appreciated, especially for the price. Also, hubby loved the bar! 90 minutes was the perfect amount of time to be out on the water, as we were able to fit it into the day with other excursions and make it back home to southern Maine by dark. Overall a very enjoyable way to enjoy Newport away from the traffic, just be sure to arrive early to get parking!

The boat is comfortable, the captain handles it well so as to avoid being tossed in ocean swells out by Castle Hill and to avoid bouncing on the waves made by passing vessels. And the commentary is not only informative but also humorous and relaxed. The complementary drinks of Del's Frozen Lemonade or a RI style "coffee cabinet" (milkshake) add to the pleasure of the trip. The tour gives a comprehensive view of Newport harbor. It's worth the cost. You can get a $3 coupon from the Discovery Map available at the visitor's center (and probably elsewhere around town). This was our third trip on the Gansett.
