Overview

Take an afternoon sail with us to search for the magnificent kohola (whales). Every year these giants of the ocean travel over 3000 miles to warm Hawaiian waters where they breed, give birth and nurse their calves. Our tours include complimentary snacks, all non-alcoholic beverages and one (1) complimentary cocktail per person (age 21 and over). Great views, beautiful marine life and the nicest sailing catamaran on the Kona coast – a great way to spend an afternoon!

Guests may purchase additional beer, wine and cocktails from our full bar.

We booked this on our last day of vacation- first day of whale watching season- so weren’t too surprised not to see any whales. The crew was great, very attentive especially to the kids- ages4&8- and we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the water. They let both boys drive the boat, which they enjoyed. If we return , we can go for free as we didn’t see whales:).

We booked both a whale watch and a night manta ray swim with Kona Style and are PROFOUNDLY glad we did. If you are considering booking EITHER a whale watch or a manta ray night swim, this is the company you should choose. There are so many tour companies to choose from, but this one is the best. The boat is a smaller sailboat/catamaran so you’re not sharing the whale watch with hundreds of people. The boat ride itself—riding in the bow netting!—is an adventure worth the price of your ticket. Sailing along the coast, seeing whales and rainbows and pictures-perfect sunsets was something we won’t ever forget. The crew and staff were all extremely personable, helpful, and friendly. I am a question-asker, and they were very patient with me, no matter how many times I called (especially Travis). Mike, Mark, Jesse, Chayden, and Demi were amazing. They were knowledgeable and passionate about the boat, the coast, the ecosystem, and the islands, and were all clearly dedicated to their jobs belong everyone have a wonderful experience. Demi, in particular, was extremely patient with our two small boys.
