Alaska Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 4 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Amazing experience with both a helicopter tour and dogs. If you are going to Alaska I would definitely recommend this tour.

An absolutely fantastic experience. The helicopter ride was spectacular and coming into the camp was a sight I’ll not soon forget. The time at camp was brilliant. The musher team were very friendly and provided fantastic insight about the dogs and their racing careers. I’d highly recommend this tour…one of the best ones of been on anywhere in the world!

The helicopter tour is exhilarating but getting to the dog camp on the glacier is the highlight for everyone. They give you a great background on the dogs that are there, the Dallas Seaver racing program (these are champion sled dogs!), how they live up there at altitude and so on. The best part is clearly getting to go dog sledding and driving the sled (with a guide doing the heavy lifting). The trainers / guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. They even let you give the dogs some love after your trip and meet some of the pups in training. Then another exhilarating helicopter trip back (Ben was an awesome pilot) and you’re done. 2 hrs very well spent! Will definitely go back and do it again with the wife and kids.
