Alaska Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 4 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

This was great fun for our family of four. It was our first time in a helicopter, and our fantastic pilot, Pam, made us comfortable and put us at ease. The only downside was that we were separated and had to ride in two helicopters because each one only fits three passengers. Pam gave us a very nice flight tour, and we ended up spotting a bear, a couple of moose, and mountain goats. Dog sledding was also fun, and we really enjoyed cuddling with puppies. Thank you to the whole team for making this such an unforgettable experience.

Thank you for your feedback! We do have larger helicopters in our fleet and when possible we try and keep groups together. We are so happy you saw so much wildlife, the babies are just being born this time of year so its great to share them with visitors!

The time at the dog camp was great but the knik lodge was disorganised- they couldn’t get the tv presentation to work at all and idea of refreshments was day old cinnamon rolls. Given the cost of this experience scrimping on things like that is silly cause it wouldn’t make that much difference

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear you felt disorganization at the Lodge. Due to the remote location, the wifi presentation can act up sometimes and we are working on how to streamline that process better. I will personally check into how we can better the experience during check in process. We greatly appreciate the feedback.

The highlight of our 10 day, daughter planned Alaska trip, was the helicopter ride (OK I'm a pilot0 and dog sledding (OK i love dogs) with this outstanding company. We postpone a day due to heavy rain and fog below camp, and were rewarded with a picture perfect experience I cannot say enough about our wonderful pilot (5+ flights a day for the past 5 years), and our dogsled leader (who has done 6 dog sled iditarod races.
