What To Expect

Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon

Rise early to begin your hot-air balloon experience. Stop into the office for check-in, then ride to the balloon launch site (which varies day-to-day depending on weather). Your pilot begins the process of inflating the balloon when you arrive. You can even help out the crew during the inflation process for a more hands-on experience. As you float high above the ground, enjoy incredible birds-eye views of the Rio Grande Valley. Your pilot determines the route for the day depending on the wind’s direction. You may fly over the city of Albuquerque and even dip low enough to wave at people or skim the Rio Grande River. Throughout your flight, your pilot shares informative commentary about the landscape beneath you. After approximately one hour in the air, your pilot lands the balloon and the ground crew comes to meet you. Celebrate your flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a commemorative flight certificate before returning to the original starting point.

I'm neither a morning person or a heights person, so naturally I went on a sunrise hot air balloon ride! This was such a wonderful experience! The basket is very stable and it hardly feels like you're moving at all. We got up about 2,000-2,200 ft. in the air and we got as fast as 25 mph, but it didn't feel like it! The guide was amazing and answered all of the questions we had. The ground crew was professional and kind as well. Would do this again ina heartbeat!!

Alfred Salazar is the best!! Had a killer coast across the city of Albuquerque with a 3rd generation balloonist!! Incredible sights and a safe landing. Tons of fun!!

Awesome experience! A hot air ballon ride was on a friend's bucket list and I got invited to go. I have to say that I almost didn't - because, well, it's just a ride, right? If you are on the fence, GO! It is super peaceful up there! The views are amazing. We had Dean as pilot, 2 college kids as chasers, and they were all super personable. Dean could put that balloon on a dime, super skillful. He's got a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous smile, and that pretty much sums up the ride he'll give you :). He told us the secret of checking the wind was to spit over the side, which I did :) made me feel like an 8 year old which was GREAT :). Go, ask for Dean ad his chasers, you won't be disappointed
