What To Expect

Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon

Rise early to begin your hot-air balloon experience. Stop into the office for check-in, then ride to the balloon launch site (which varies day-to-day depending on weather). Your pilot begins the process of inflating the balloon when you arrive. You can even help out the crew during the inflation process for a more hands-on experience. As you float high above the ground, enjoy incredible birds-eye views of the Rio Grande Valley. Your pilot determines the route for the day depending on the wind’s direction. You may fly over the city of Albuquerque and even dip low enough to wave at people or skim the Rio Grande River. Throughout your flight, your pilot shares informative commentary about the landscape beneath you. After approximately one hour in the air, your pilot lands the balloon and the ground crew comes to meet you. Celebrate your flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a commemorative flight certificate before returning to the original starting point.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

I really loved our balloon ride in Albuquerque with Rainbow Ryders. I felt very safe and it was like gliding through the air. So peaceful. Our pilot, Luka, and crew including Larry made the whole experience a lot of fun. The views were amazing and it was an unforgettable experience. They even had champagne, mimosas, juice, and snacks for us when we got back. I’m so happy that we decided to have this adventure...

The hot air balloon ride experience is absolutely unbeatable. You feel like you are floating to the clouds and you can see other balloons in the sky as you glide along. We felt safe the entire time and our pilot was friendly and had great stories and lots of knowledge about the area and balloon history. The landing was a little rocky but the champagne and juice at the end were nice. I wish they brought the snacks along with the drinks (they were waiting at the facility where you meet). They just had packaged pastries and trail mix and bottled water. Allow 3-4 hours for the trip, it takes a while for the balloons to set up, the actual hot air balloon ride takes around an hour, and then it's at least an hour after to have a drink, pack the balloon up, and drive back to where you meet and it's kind of annoying to have to spend so much time waiting around. I would definitely do another ride with Rainbow Ryders. It was amazing.

Hi there Kristin and thanks for your review and kind words. We love getting to share the beauty of an Albuquerque Sunrise Flight it sounds like you were able to spend quite an amazing time with us. Sadly there is a lot included with a balloon flight so I do apologize for the long waits at times. It's funny we pride our pilots on their ability to parallel park an 8 story tall balloon, however we always forget how much work it takes for the crew to pack away an 8 story tall balloon as well! Thanks for flying with us though and we hope you'll fly with us again soon!
