Alcatraz Inside and Golden Gate Bridge Express Visit

Overview

Enjoy two same day San Francisco experiences — a round trip express excursion to the Golden Gate Bridge (SF side) by minibus from Fisherman’s Wharf with an assigned time visit inside Alcatraz cellhouse.

Basic Tour departs Fisherman's Wharf to experience 45 minutes at the Golden Gate Bridge (SF side). There is also an option to upgrade in advance to visit the other side of the bridge in addition to San Francisco side or to choose a small group van experience. No food included.

Guests can upgrade to the "Walk The Bridge with Brunch" option where we drop guests at the other side of the bridge to which guests have TWO HOURS to walk back to the San Francisco side. Their efforts are rewarded with a $10 brunch credit and pick up at the Bridge Restaurant.

Light History Narration and Television Monitor Documentaries will be provided.
Guests will be dropped off directly at Pier 33 Alcatraz or Wharf.
Some dates may start with Alcatraz followed by Golden Gate Bridge.

What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

Step back in time and experience the legendary island that has been a civil war fort, a military prison and one of the most notorious federal penitentiaries in US history. This memorable tour includes: 45 minute audio presentation "Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour," featuring actual correctional officers and prisoners who lived and worked on the Island; orientation video by Discovery Channel; ranger and docent tours; historic gardens and abundant wildlife.

Golden Gate Bridge

Round trip transportation from Fisherman's Wharf across the Golden Gate Bridge (one half hour each way) with a 30 minute stop over for pictures on the other side at Vista Point. Return to Fisherman's Wharf. Total van event is estimated 90 minutes* (allow for traffic/accidents/delays)

The driver James was informative, very courteous, loves his job, highly enthusiastic. Very comfortable van, van even had phone charging lines. Alcatraz was a great experience, just actually wanted to be locked up in there. Golden Gate Bridge was very nice. Enjoyed walking part of Bridge but was very windy and cold since crossing pacific ocean

Our overall experience was very good. We did, however, have some difficulty with initial ticketing and it was confusing and chaotic once we arrived at Alcatraz. Our visit got much better once we were able to tap into the Audio Tour. A little more information on what to expect once reaching the island would have helped us move faster and see more. Next time we’ll know! It was an extremely interesting tour.

We agree that Alcatraz boarding is a very confusing area due to social distancing. There is much going on there as they have to load 500 people in such a short time. Thank you for your patience in dealing with them on that! We are glad that you enjoyed the Golden Gate van portion!
