Alcatraz Inside and Golden Gate Bridge Express Visit

Overview

Enjoy two same day San Francisco experiences — a round trip express excursion to the Golden Gate Bridge (SF side) by minibus from Fisherman’s Wharf with an assigned time visit inside Alcatraz cellhouse.

Basic Tour departs Fisherman's Wharf to experience 45 minutes at the Golden Gate Bridge (SF side). There is also an option to upgrade in advance to visit the other side of the bridge in addition to San Francisco side or to choose a small group van experience. No food included.

Guests can upgrade to the "Walk The Bridge with Brunch" option where we drop guests at the other side of the bridge to which guests have TWO HOURS to walk back to the San Francisco side. Their efforts are rewarded with a $10 brunch credit and pick up at the Bridge Restaurant.

Light History Narration and Television Monitor Documentaries will be provided.
Guests will be dropped off directly at Pier 33 Alcatraz or Wharf.
Some dates may start with Alcatraz followed by Golden Gate Bridge.

What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

Step back in time and experience the legendary island that has been a civil war fort, a military prison and one of the most notorious federal penitentiaries in US history. This memorable tour includes: 45 minute audio presentation "Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour," featuring actual correctional officers and prisoners who lived and worked on the Island; orientation video by Discovery Channel; ranger and docent tours; historic gardens and abundant wildlife.

Golden Gate Bridge

Round trip transportation from Fisherman's Wharf across the Golden Gate Bridge (one half hour each way) with a 30 minute stop over for pictures on the other side at Vista Point. Return to Fisherman's Wharf. Total van event is estimated 90 minutes* (allow for traffic/accidents/delays)

This tour was amazing. The views from the ferry are absolutely breathtaking of the city. Then the island itself is just as beautiful. The audio tour is cool and it's from the actual guards of alcatraz. Then the tour with James and how the Golden Gate Bridge came to be was memorable. James is very knowledgeable and answered all questions and to find out he is a CT native just made it more personal. This tour is a must. Thanks James.

This was an experience we were really looking forward to and it did not dissappoint! The boat to Alcatraz felt safe and was quick. The tour guide was excellent and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted on the island. The actual internal displays were very moving and will give us lasting memories. James (our driver) was brilliant and allowed plenty of time by the Golden Gate for photos and we had a bonus visit to Muir Woods which was an unexpected surprise. Thank you James

We had a fabulous time at Alcatraz. Unfortunately we couldn't make the bus journey due to unforseen circumstances but we saw that we could still board the freey and visit 'the rock' so we just did that part. I have written a separate review about Alcatraz. I was a little concerned at the tickets weren't sent to us until two days before we went and they didn't arrive until late in the evening but they did arrive and they had all the information we needed.
