Combine inside Alcatraz with an assigned same day visit to Muir Woods with Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy a hybrid of driver narration with bridge history and Alcatraz Escape presentations.

This tour includes:
Assigned By Us: Muir Wood Van departure time (70+ minute)
Assigned By Us: Alcatraz Island Admission Time Slot (2.5+ hours)
Golden Gate Bridge stop (10+ minutes)

We will assign your between 7am-4pm in peak times. Guests will be returned to San Francisco by van or included ferry on select dates.

VIP James Woods Road Trip Upgrade: Muir Woods Express plus bonus time in Sausalito with brunch credit. Guests will be returned to Wharf by van or ferry. Some dates will start by Sausalito Ferry then Muir Woods/ Golden Gate.

What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

Same day Alcatraz Admission Inside Prison with audio tour included. Guests should allow 2.5 hours for this experience. Guests will be assigned to a time by our company and will not be changed. Guests are not required to take van tour if they wish only to experience Alcatraz portion.

Muir Woods National Monument

Guests will experience the tall trees in a 70 minute self guided walking experience. $15 admission is not included.

Golden Gate Bridge

Brief stop to see the bridge and take photos when weather permits. This activity may be a pass by if weather does not permit.

Frankly, it was like the sales trips. Very early we had to be at the pick-up point (7am) to make a stop at the Golden Gate. Everything was in the fog in the morning. Continue to Muir Woods. Just been driven there and let out. At 8.30 a.m. a bit crass. Not even the Cafe/Shopping store was up. After 1 1/2 laps - good for the weather nobody can get anything (rain) - and we continued to Sausalitos Been let out here outside a restaurant with a voucher and the ferry ticket. Forced food. We had to spend 2 hours in Sausalitos before the ferry went back. That was the lead..... Arrived in San Francisco independently to Pier 33 where we went to Alcatraz. At 2:30 in the afternoon. It was so crowded as this is exactly the peak time. No one seen by the group or driver. Alcatraz with audio (language selectable). But got everyone who has a ticket. Back also queued again miserably long. The ferry should run every half hour. Which she didn't. Maybe every 45 minutes, if not longer. The ferries coming from San Francisco were much emptier as of 4 p.m.

Thank you for your review. Alcatraz in the summer is busy so crowds are hard to avoid. As for the "forced" brunch location we must say that we only include food as a bonus gesture. We want our guests to be full before they attend Alcatraz.

Our sensational and very kind guide James gave us tons of information about San Francisco and the surrounding areas. It was a pleasant excursion with someone who loves his city. 1000 thanks! The Alcatraz tour was also fun and informative. But on the quay and on the boat, the squadrons of flies attack in very tight waves.
