The 12:50pm option departs from Pier 33. It will start with Muir Woods and Sausalito then to Alcatraz at night.

Alcatraz Island

Headsets are provided to listen to the award-winning audio tour, “Doing Time”, where you will learn about notorious criminals like Al Capone, who were incarcerated here. Learn about escape attempts from 'The Rock' and listen to commentary from former inmates and staff. This will be your drop-off point. No transportation is provided after Alcatraz because you will be able to stay as long as you want on the Island until the last ferry back to Pier 33.

We bought a tour through Get your guide and everything was punctual and well organized. The price is pricey per person, but we thought the trip was worth every DKK. At Alcatraz you are given an audio guide, this works fine, and then the driver from Get your guide acted as a humorous and informative guide in the minibus. Muir Wood is incomparable and sneak peek Sausalito is definitely worth a visit as well. Almost reminded me of a French holiday town - and then there was the most beautiful view of SF

I want to leave a positive review about just Sausalito (since we went to both Alcatraz and Sausalito with the ferry without having to go on an excursion) but I couldn't find the place in Sausalito just to leave the opinion. Sausalito, as I say, taking the ferry you are in a pes pais, it is on the other side of the bay, it is a beautiful little town with its houses located on the hillside, and a promenade full of shops and restaurants, a small port, with boats/yachts anchored, a beauty that is worth visiting, also although in San Francisco it is cloudy (which is more than usual) in Sausalito it is always sunny.
